Russia – Latin America Business and Media Forum took place in Montevideo (Uruguay) on March 28–29, 2016. It was organised by the Roscongress Foundation and the Bering-Bellingshausen Institute for the Americas. Supporting organizations were the Uruguay Government, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, of Economic Development, of Telecom and Mass Communications, of Energy, of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, and the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation.

The project, which will be undertaken with Russian cooperation, will supply the domestic demand for gas and increases the supply to neighboring nations, according to an official statement.
